✅ Key features

  • For non-farm income-generating activities: manufacturing, trading, services, and activities allied to agriculture (dairy, poultry, fisheries).
  • No collateral security; loans are covered by the Credit Guarantee Fund for Micro Units (CGFMU).
  • Given by public & private banks, small finance banks, regional rural banks, NBFCs and MFIs.
  • Interest rate is decided by each lender — there is no single fixed Mudra rate.

💡 Good to know

  • Above ₹50,000, banks usually finance about 80% of the project cost; you bring the rest (margin money).
  • Banks may allow a moratorium (EMI holiday) of a few months while the business starts.
  • Working capital can be given through a MUDRA Card (RuPay debit card) as an overdraft.
  • Beware of agents — no one is authorised to charge a fee to “get” a Mudra loan.

📄 Documents usually needed

  • Aadhaar and PAN card
  • Passport-size photos
  • Address proof (home & business)
  • Udyam registration / business proof
  • Bank statement (last 6–12 months)
  • Quotation for machines / items to buy
  • Business plan or project report (Kishore, Tarun)
  • ITR / balance sheet (Tarun, Tarun Plus)
  • Caste certificate, if applicable
