PM SVANidhi stands for PM Street Vendor’s AtmaNirbhar Nidhi. It is a central government scheme that gives small working capital loans to street vendors, without asking for any property or guarantee.

The loan helps a vendor buy stock, repair a cart, or restart business after a loss. If the vendor repays on time, they can get a bigger loan next time. The scheme also encourages vendors to accept digital payments (like UPI), and gives cashback for it.

Who Can Apply?

  • You must be a street vendor selling goods or services in urban areas, including census towns and peri-urban areas.
  • You should have any one of these:
    • A Certificate of Vending (CoV) or Identity Card issued by your Urban Local Body (municipality), or
    • A Letter of Recommendation (LoR) from your Urban Local Body (or the Block Development Officer for census towns and peri-urban areas).
  • You must have an Aadhaar card and a savings bank account.

Online Registration and Loan Application

  1. Open the official PM SVANidhi portal. To open it directly, Click Here.
  2. Click on “Apply for Loan” (choose the right loan: 1st, 2nd or 3rd).
  3. Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number and verify it with the OTP.
  4. Choose your vendor category: whether you have a Vending Certificate / ID card or need a Letter of Recommendation.
  5. Fill in your details: name, Aadhaar, vending address, type of business and bank details.
  6. Complete Aadhaar e-KYC.
  7. Upload the required documents.
  8. Select the bank (lender) from which you want the loan.
  9. Submit the form and note your application number.

What Happens After You Apply

  1. Your municipality (ULB) checks your application and, if needed, issues your LoR digitally.
  2. The bank checks your form and sanctions the loan.
  3. The loan amount is sent to your bank account.
  4. Start using UPI for your business to get cashback.
  5. Repay on time to get the interest subsidy and the next, bigger loan.
